We are urging rabbits owner to be aware of flystrike...though I have in the past known of a cat with it. It is more common in rabbits as their poo can get stuck on there fur. Its a horrible and quick problem, were the fly lay eggs on the dirty area, within hours they are eating there way into the animal. Best way to avoid it is 2-3 times a day or at least morning and nightime, checking the pets bottom is best, looking for any dirty fur and sore patches.

Best treatment if found to have flystrike-get it to a vet.
